Question asked by attendee – how do we stop spam?
Answer – Matt Mullenweg – use Akismet of course. Thats what he made it for.
Q – Is WP safe for running an online store?
A – tons of people are using it for ecommerce. it works really well and there are some great tools like wpcommerce. Most of the security issues are things like server settings and not staying updated. If you do those things you are pretty secure.
Q – What about piracy of themes and things?
A – If you build it and offer support, listen to what they want, providing great customer service helps people want to purchase from you. Most people who like something are willing to pay for it.
